Champions exhibit favorite fare at 4-H food show

The Frontier Extension District 4-H Favorite Food Show was held June 15, in Burlingame. To participate, each 4-Her prepared their favorite food and displayed it with a corresponding menu, table setting, and centerpiece. The 4-Hers were also interviewed by a judge who scored them on their understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and appropriateness of the table service.

Osage-Senior-Favorite-Food-Winner of the Senior Division of the Frontier Extension District Favorite Food Show was Tracy Wilk. Tracy is a member of the Willing Workers 4-H Club, and the daughter of Ken and Sally Wilk, Osage City.

Overall winners of the food show from both counties in the Extension district are eligible to compete at the Area Favorite Food Show, June 27, in Burlington.

Results of the Frontier Extension District 4-H Favorite Food Show are listed below.

Osage County– Senior Champion, Tracy Wilk, Willing Workers; Reserve Champion, Josiah Shultz, Clover Wranglers 4-H Club. Junior Champion, Lily Shultz, Clover Wranglers; Reserve Junior Champion, Lexi Studebaker, Clover Wranglers. Other junior level participants were: Sarah Meier, North Osage; Isaac Shultz, Clover Wranglers; and Wylie Young, North Osage, all receiving blue ribbons.

Franklin County – Senior Champion, Morgan Barber, Junior Judgers; Junior Champion, Bailey Longstaff, Burg Go Getters; Junior Reserve Champion, Sarah Stoneking, Junior Judgers.

Osage-Junior-Favorite-Food-Lily Shultz, Clover Wrangler 4-H Club member, received the Champion Junior Division honors at the Frontier Extension District Favorite Food Show. She is the daughter of Brett and Gina Shultz, Burlingame.
