OCPR Update: You, too, can be a championship barbecue chef

OCPR-logo-redThe weekend after Smoke in the Spring, Osage City Parks and Recreation will host the University of Que BBQ cooking class, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. April 14, 2018, at the Osage City Community Building.

The class is taught by Richard Fergola and Jeremy Williams, of Fergolicious BBQ, an award winning competition barbecue team. Over the past two seasons, the team had 25 top 5 finishes, 9 grand championships, multiple perfect 700 and 180 scores, including the 2017 Smoke in the Spring Ribs Class Champion. Everyone can come out to visit them at this year’s Smoke in the Spring.

The class fee is $399 per person and $200 for spouses.

The class will cover: Meat Selection, Trimming, Rubs and Sauces, Injections and Brines, Full KCBS Box Building, Timelines, Temps, Woods, Hot Holding, Flavor Profiles, Presentation, Equipment, and much more. There also will be complimentary goodie bags, and prize drawings

Participants get to eat everything they cook in class!
