Annual Welsh Tea scheduled at Lebo

The annual Welsh Tea hosted by cousins Jean Rowley, Norma Jorios and Paula Evans, with the help of family and friends, will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Lebo United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

March 1 is the anniversary of the death of the patron saint of Kales, St. David, and is the day he is honored by the Welsh and Welsh Americans.

The free informal Welsh Tea also honors the Welsh who settled the areas of Lebo, Arvonia, Emporia, Reading, and Osage City and other area communities. Welsh and friends of the Welsh are invited to eat warm Welsh cakes with coffee, tea, or spiced apple juice, and enjoy the camaraderie among bouquets of daffodils, the flower of Kales.
