Nola Jean Cox, 84, Overbrook: Dec. 12, 1933 – May 11, 2018

OVERBROOK, Kan. – Nola Jean Cox, 84, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, Kan. She was born on Dec. 12, 1933, in Galt, Mo., the daughter of John and Della Hess Molloy.

Nola had lived in Dover, Kan., before moving to Lyndon, Kan., in 1973. She worked for SRS in Osage County for 22 years.

On July 2, 1949, Nola was married to John Cox, in Haseville, Mo. To this union eight children were born.

Nola was preceded in death by her husband, John, on Nov. 19, 2006; her parents, John and Della; three brothers, George Molloy, John Molloy and Francis Molloy; sister, Rose Ralls; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson and Diane Sparks.

Nola is survived by her four sons, Gary Cox, Lyndon, Roger Cox, Wellington, Kan., Mark Cox, Topeka, Kan., and David Cox, Caldwell, Idaho; four daughters, Barbara Boushie, Topeka, Karen Kenny, Grain Valley, Mo., Hope Brosius, Topeka, and Jennifer Johnson, Topeka; a brother, Jefferson Molloy, Carbondale, Kan.; and 32 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery.
