Burlingame Rodeo Days Schedule, May 18 to May 20, 2018

Burlingame has scheduled a weekend of fun during its annual Rodeo Days. Action kicks off Friday night with the rodeo at the Burlingame Saddle Club arena. Here’s the schedule of events as provided by the local chamber:

Friday, May 18

6:30 p.m. – Mutton Bustin
7 p.m. – Rodeo at rodeo arena

Saturday, May 19 (craft, food, and games on Santa Fe Avenue, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

7-9 a.m. – Vendor registration (craft and food vendors) – west Santa Fe Avenue
8-11 a.m. – Youth pancake feed at Federated Church
9 a.m. – Tractor show begins east end of Santa Fe Avenue

  • Baby contest, registration at Schuyler Community Center
  • Pedal tractor pull, registration on cement – east side of museum
  • Check in for 5k run/walk by Chamber booth
  • Rescue horses and petting zoo at vacant lot by museum
  • Quilt show at Masonic Lodge

9:30 a.m. – Baby contest at Schuyler Community Center
10 a.m. – Car show registration and car show

  • Pedal tractor pull in front of Schuyler Museum on cement
  • Homemade ice cream sales at library
  • Bucking fun 5k run, shotgun start

Noon – Cardboard box costume contest at “The Hideout”

2 p.m. – Parade lineup at high school parking lot

3 p.m. – Parade – theme is “Salute to the American Cowboy”

4 p.m. – Taco salad/baked potato dinner at the Schuyler Community Center

6:30 p.m. – Mutton bustin’ at rodeo grounds

7 p.m. – Rodeo at rodeo arena

Sunday, May 20 – Youth rodeo at noon

Rodeo Days tractor show, May 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Bring your tractors, big or small, to Burlingame City Hall at 101 E. Santa Fe Ave. Tractors will be lined up along City Hall to the south and east. Trailer parking is at 311 S. Topeka Ave., at Sumner Park. Prizes to be presented to three participants: best of show and $50 Visa gift card; farthest traveled and $50 Visa gift card; people’s choice and $50 Visa gift card. Participants have the option to be in the parade on Sante Fe Avenue at 3 p.m. Parade lineup is at 2:30 p.m.

Kids pedal pull

Calling all kids 4 through 12 years old to join the fun at the Burlingame Rodeo Days pedal pull Saturday, May 19. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the pull beginning at 10 a.m., in front of the Schuyler Museum, 117 S. Dacotah St. First and second place winner in each age group will qualify for state competition.
