John Hagen, 87, Melvern: July 29, 1930 – June 8, 2018

MELVERN, Kan. – John Hagen, 87, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kan. He was born on July 29, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of John and Beatrice Baldwin Hagen.

John had lived in Melvern, Kan., for a number of years and had been in Olathe for the last year.

John retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of master sergeant after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Melvern American Legion Post 317 and the Melvern United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 27, 1959, John was married to Neva Kay Lane, in Melvern.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tom Hagen; and his sister, Joan McGrath.

John is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; his four children, Robert Hagen, of Alabama, John Hagen, of Sweden, Douglas Hagen, of Kansas, and Linda Mills, of Kansas; two sisters, Bea Lightfoot and Doris McGrath; and eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, Kan.
