Betty Jean Hanna, 76, Lyndon: Oct. 28, 1941 – June 14, 2018

LYNDON, Kan. – Betty Jean Hanna, 76, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. She was born on Oct. 28, 1941, in Clebit, Okla., the daughter of Curtis and Thelma Needham Hinton.

Betty had lived in Lyndon, Kan., since 1960. She worked as a keypunch operator, unemployment computer room supervisor, then as a computer programmer for the state of Kansas for 23 years. She was a Sunflower Stepper and was a member of the Lyndon Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. 

On September 25, 1959, Betty was united in marriage to Melville “Hotch” Hanna, in Clinton, Kan.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Thelma; twin brother, Billy, and brothers, Paul and John Lee; and sisters Nancy, Pat, Louise and Sandy.

Betty is survived by her husband, Hotch, of the home; her three sons and wives, Hotch Jay and Ann Hanna, of Navarre, Fla., Terry and Twila Hanna, Lyndon, and Mike and Laura Hanna, Vassar, Kan.; four grandchildren, Aaron, Tyler, Alicia and Lucas; her dog, Little Bit; brothers Curtis Lee and Ricky; and sisters Faye and Jeannie.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
