Margaret House, 91, Topeka: March 17, 1927 – July 11, 2018

TOPEKA, Kan. – Margaret House, 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her home in Topeka, Kan. She was born on March 17, 1927, in Blytheville, Ark., the daughter of Albert and Margaret Golden Shearer.

Margaret had lived in the Vassar, Lyndon and Topeka, Kan., communities since 1964. Margaret was an owner and​ bookkeeper for Washburn Optical and​ then​ ​later​ ​did​ seamstress​ work​. She was a member of the Quivira Heights Church of Christ.

On May 1, 1946, Margaret was married to Robert House in Pacific Grove, Calif. To this union three children were born.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on March 10, 1999; and by her daughter, Kaye Fisher, on Oct. 10, 2006.

Margaret is survived by her son, John House, Topeka; daughter, Annette Lee, Prunedale, Calif.; four grandchildren, Craig House, Amy Eneihen, Brooke Lee and Amy Wise; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, at the Quivira Heights Church of Christ, in Topeka. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in the Vassar Cemetery.
