New KDOT projects: U.S. 75 overlay, K-268 bridge replacement, K-31 seal

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas. The letting took place June 19 in Topeka. Projects that will affect travelers in Osage County and surrounding area include:

Osage County – K‑268, 4.77 miles east of U.S. 75 (former MOPAC Railroad), bridge replacement, Ebert Construction Company Inc. and Subsidiary, Wamego, $855,528.74. Project No. 268-70 KA‑2077‑01.

Osage County – U.S. 75, from Osage and Coffey county line north to 1 mile north of the south junction U.S. 75/K‑31, milling and overlay, 7.2 miles, Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc., Topeka, $3,289,023.25. Project No. 75-70 KA‑2182‑01.

Osage County – U.S. 75, from beginning of four-lane north to Osage and Shawnee county line, milling and overlay, 6.5 miles, Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc., Topeka, $4,896,873.87. Project No. 75-70 KA‑2184‑01.

Shawnee County – U.S. 75, Osage and Shawnee county line north to Topeka Boulevard, milling and overlay, 2.5 miles, Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc., Topeka, $1,726,292.92. Project No. 75-89 KA‑2185‑01.

Statewide –K‑31: from K‑31/K‑99 east to the Wabaunsee County line; from the Osage and Wabaunsee county line east to the concrete and brick junction in Burlingame, conventional seal, 16 miles, Vance Brothers Inc., Kansas City, Mo., $393,408.96. Project No. 31-106 KA‑3346‑01.
