Jason Darran Pittman, 53, Bonner Springs: Sept. 2, 1965 – Sept. 25, 2018

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. – Jason D. Pittman, 53, of Bonner Springs, Kan., passed away Sept. 25, 2018, at home. Jason was born Sept. 2, 1965, in Chillicothe, Mo.

He graduated from Chillicothe High School and attended Mizzou before graduating from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo. Jason worked for the State of Kansas Youth Center, in Atchison, Kan., then SRS (now DCF), in Kansas City, Kan., for nine years. He joined the Kansas City Police Department in 2003 and retired on Sept. 1.

Jason has been with his beloved wife, Casi Pittman, since 2006.

He was a member of the National Fraternal Order of Police and the NRA. Jason enjoyed traveling, especially to go hiking or to the beach. He was very interested in fitness, especially weightlifting, and spent a lot of time at the range. Jason was an avid Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Pittman; his mother, Shirley Shannon; and his sister, Angela Shannon.

Jason is survived by his wife, Casi Pittman, of the home; sister, J’Nae Myers, of the Chillicothe area; and nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, with the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will be 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Mo.
