OCPR Update: Get off the bench and get on the ball!

OCPR-logo-redThere’s no doubt about which season it is – basketball! It might be cool outside, but Osage City Parks and Recreation is getting ready for basketball players to start warming up the local gyms. Here’s information about OCPR’s upcoming youth basketball season.


Youth Basketball (3rd-6th grade boys and girls)

OCPR teams participate in the Scott Brown Youth Basketball League.

  • League divisions are split into single grades 3rd-6th grade for boys and girls.
  • Team practice can begin the week of November 26, if a team has a coach.
  • SBBL Season, Saturdays, January 5-February 16.
  • SBBL League Divisional Tournaments, February 23.
  • Players receive a team uniform (jersey and shorts).
  • Cost is $30 per player.

Signup deadline, November 5.

OCPR coach-player discount available and OCPR scholarship forms available.


Youth Basketball (1st and 2nd grade, coed)

Team practice, January 14 and 21. Boys practice, 6-7 p.m. or 7-8 p.m. (if needed).

Game information (both boys and girls).

  • January 28-February 18.
  • Team/group practice, first 30 minutes.
  • Game, second 30 minutes.
  • Each game is two (2) 15-minute halves.
  • Players receive a team shirt and participation award.
  • Cost is $20 per player

Signup deadline, January 4


Youth Basketball (Pre-K and kindergarten, coed)

  • Dates, January 14-February 17 (Skipping Super Bowl Sunday.)
  • Time, 5-6 p.m.
  • Location – Osage City Junior High and High School Gyms.
  • Players receive a shirt and participation award.
  • Cost is $20 per player.

Signup deadline, January 4.
