Arden Haldeman, 77, Topeka: Dec. 16, 1941 – Jan. 21, 2019

TOPEKA, Kan. – Arden Haldeman, 77, of Topeka, Kan., passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019. He was born December 16, 1941 in Wichita, Kan., the son of Atwood and Helen M. Randel Haldeman.

Arden graduated from Topeka High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. He later worked at Goodyear, the State of Kansas Records Annex, in North Topeka, and he retired after working for Shawnee Heights USD 450 for more than 20 years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Randel farm in the America City area and frog gigging. He enjoyed antiquing with his wife, Janet, long before it became a popular thing to do. His two Dalmatians, Dot and Dewey, precede him.

He was married to Janet Lewis Haldeman. She preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2013.

Arden is survived by his son, Ben Haldeman and wife, Roxie, of Topeka; daughter, Amada Haldeman, Topeka; two brothers, Robert Haldeman and wife, Norma, Topeka, and Terry Haldeman and wife, Leona, Osage County; sister, Kathy Roberts and husband, Pat, Topeka; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation is planned. Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka, is assisting the family.
