Jefferson ‘Jeff’ Molloy, 87, Carbondale: Dec. 4, 1931 – Feb. 15, 2019

CARBONDALE, Kan. – Jefferson “Jeff” Molloy, 87, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. He was born on Dec. 4, 1931, in Galt, Mo., the son of John and Della Hess Molloy.

Jeff grew up in Missouri and had moved to Kansas in 1954. He had lived in Carbondale, Kan., since 1971. Jeff worked for Firestone Tire in sales and service for many years.

On Feb. 19, 1951, Jeff was married to Margaret Ralls, in Chillicothe, Mo.

Jeff was preceded in death by his son, James Molloy, on Feb. 16, 2015; parents, John and Della; three brothers, George, John and Francis Molloy; and two sisters, Rosa Ralls and Nola Cox.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; five daughters, Mary (Randall) Colston, Nesbit, Miss., Virginia (Jim) Cook, Carbondale, Connie (Randy) Roberts, Carbondale, Eva (Larry) Birch, Maple Hill, Kan., and Amy (Tony) Flohrschutz, Lawrence, Kan.; and 24 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in the Carbondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
