POMONA, Kan. – passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, in Ottawa, Kan. He was born on Oct. 18, 1922, in Guide Rock, Neb., the son of Louie and Anna Schnittiker Kiehl.
Cliff grew up in Nebraska and travelled extensively working construction. He retired as a carpentry supervisor. He had lived near Pomona, Kan., for many years. Cliff served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in North Africa, Sicily and the Italian Campaign at Anzio. He always loved camping, boating, fishing and hunting with his family, especially with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
On Sept. 21, 1946, Cliff was married to Ada Jackson. To this union, two children were born.
Cliff was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Sleichter in October 1983; a grandson, Shaon Sleichter, in June 1998; his parents, Louie and Anna; two brothers, Jess and Bob; and three sisters, Frida, Mildred and Cleo.
Cliff is survived by his son, Donald Kiehl, of Pomona; sister, Ruby Duncan, Gardner, Kan.; and five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona.
