Jack C. Wells, 68, Lyndon: May 24, 1950 – March 28, 2019

LYNDON, Kan. – Jack C. Wells, 68, was born May 24, 1950, in McPherson, Kan. He suffered a stroke and died unexpectedly at his home in Lyndon, Kan., on March 28, 2019.

Jack grew up in McPherson. He graduated from McPherson High School with the class of 1968. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also very creative in his kitchen. He enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross and Harvesters Community Food Network. Jack’s success as a sales representative allowed him to enjoy retirement for many years before his death. 

Jack’s parents, Robert Edward and Ruth Ann Wells, preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his guardians after the death of his parents, Donald and Phyllis “Joan” Everly; brothers, Daniel Everly and Edward “Bud” Deaver; and sister and brother-in-law, Estie and Robert Hodgkinson.

Survivors include his fiancée and his “Sunshine,” Brenda Dorsey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luis and Marty Wells, Victor and Janice Deaver, and Doug and Nancy Everly; sister-in-law, Cindy Everly; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Mark McCauley. He also leaves his aunt, Norma Ludlow Smith, and many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will not be held; an informal memorial will be planned at a later date.
