While it may seem like winter just ended, Osage City Parks and Recreation is already planning for the upcoming warm days and sunshine. Schedules have been set for lifeguard training, first aid and CPR, WSI certification, swim camp, swim lessons, and the swim team. Check out the details:

Lifeguard Training – WSI Certification Lifeguard/CPR Re-Certification

Lifeguard Training

• May 22, 4-6 p.m. (Pre-Requisite Skills Test)
• May 23, 6-8 p.m.
• May 24, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
• May 25, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• May 26, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Cost is $150
• Instructors, Jordan Tice and Lynn Tice.
• Students will be expected to complete 7 class hours online.
• Includes First Aid and CPR.
• Attendance required each day.
• Must be 15 to take the class.
• Signup deadline May 6.

WSI Certification

• May 29-31, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
• June 3-7, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
• Cost is $150
• Instructor, Lynn Tice.
• Attendance required each day.
• Must be 16 to take the class.
• Signup deadline May 13.

Lifeguard Re-Certification (w/CPR)

• May 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Cost is $70
• Instructors, Lynn Tice and Jordan Tice.
• Deadline is May 6.
• Osage City Swim Team
• For swimmers age 6-18, a swimmer’s age is their age on or before June 22, 2019.
• Swim team pre-requisite: Must be able to swim the length of the OCAC Pool without assistance; must have completed Level 3 Red Cross Swim Lessons.
• Swim team practice starts the week of June 10.
• Meet schedule, June 22-July 20.
• Overbrook, Lebo, Lyndon, Burlington, and Osage City.

Swim team parent/swimmer meeting May 5, 6 p.m., OCAC – Mandatory meeting for both parents and swimmers. Swim suit sizes and shirt/tank top sizes will be taken. Anyone not able to attend must meet with Letisha DeBaun prior to their first practice.

OCAC Swim Camp

• June 3-7
• 12-1p.m.
• $10 per swimmer
• Swimmers will focus on one stroke per day
• June 7, Swim team open tryout day (open to any swimmer).
• Fee, $60 per swimmer
• “Practice Swimmers” only, $30 per swimmer.

Red Cross Swim Lessons

Session One, June 17-27

• 10-10:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 1, Level 3

Session Two, July 8-18

• 10-10:45 a.m., Level 1, Level 3, Level 4
• 11-11:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 2, Guard Start
• 12-12:30 p.m., Parent Tot (6 mon-2 Yrs)
• SIGN-UP DEADLINE, July 1
• Cost is $25 per swimmer per session

Private Lessons

• Session #1, June 10-14, a.m. only
• Session #2, July 1-5, a.m. only
• OCAC Staff will contact you about a time during the session selected.
• Other times may be available (Contact OCAC).
• $40 per week (One Week=Five 30-Minute Lessons).
• Contact OCAC (Starting May 25) to signup.
• Pre-School Sessions, Pre-K Swimmers (Age 3-5) will be evaluated their first session and then placed in the appropriate group.
• A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make.
• Swim Lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY.
• Friday will be used as a Make-Up Day (as needed).
• Lessons Will not be held if the air temperature is below 70 degrees.

Private Swim Lessons
