Spring is here, Kansas’ hot weather is not far behind, and Osage City Parks and Recreation is making the Osage City Aquatic Center the cool place to be this summer. In the meantime, swimming lessons, S.T.E.A.M Camp, Musical Camp and Youth Football Camp are scheduled and signup deadlines are getting closer.
Red Cross Swim Lessons
- Session One, June 17-27
- 10-10:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 1, Level 3
- 11-11:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 2, Level 5
- Signup deadline, June 10.
Cost is $25 per swimmer per session.
- Session Two, July 8-18
- 10-10:45 a.m., Level 1, Level 3, Level 4
- 11-11:45 a.m., Pre-School, Level 2, Guard Start
- 12-12:30, Parent Tot (6 mon-2 Yrs)
- Signup deadline, July 1.
Cost is $25 per swimmer per session.
Private Swim Lessons
- Session #1, June 10-14, AM only.
- Session #2, July 1-5, AM only.
- OCAC Staff will contact you about a time during the session selected.
- Other times may be available (Contact OCAC).
- $40 per week (One Week=Five 30-Minute Lessons).
- Contact OCAC (Starting May 25) to signup.
- Pre-School Sessions, Pre-K Swimmers (Age 3-5) will be evaluated their first session and then placed in the appropriate group.
- A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make.
- Swim Lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY.
- Friday will be used as a make-up day as needed.
- Lessons will not be held if the air temperature is below 70 degrees.

Group Swim Lessons
Group Swim Lesson Forms are available online at www.osagecity.com, at the Osage City Facebook Page (Photos Section) and Osage City Hall. Starting May 25, Group Swim Lesson forms will be available at OCAC.
Osage City Aquatic Center
OCAC Pool Hours: May 25-August 4, Monday-Friday, 1-7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.; August 5-Labor Day, Saturday and Sunday, 1-6 p.m. (includes Labor Day).
Daily admission, $3 (age 4 & above); age 3 & below FREE; age 65 & over FREE.
OCAC Swim Pass Booklets
Swim Booklets can be purchased at Osage City Hall May 20-24. Starting May 25, Swim Booklets will be on sale at Osage City Aquatic Center. 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50.
Deck and Pool Rental Reservation can be made with Corey Linton before May 25.
S.T.E.A.M CAMP
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Music
- Camp date, May 28-31
- Camp location, Osage City Elementary School (west entrance).
- Camp teachers, Diane Vaughn, Collene Stucky, Kylie Baxter.
- Students grade is based on the 2019-2020 school year.
- Children will learn: To work successfully in teams, how to solve problems, develop critical thinking skills, self-confidence
- Daily themes: Mystery Day, Electricity Day, Food/Robot Day, Maze Day
- Age 4-5, 8:30-9 a.m., $30 per student.
- Limit 15 students.
- 1st-3rd Grade, 9:15-10:15 a.m., $40 per student.
- Limit 25 students.
- 4th-6th Grade, 10:30-11:30 a.m., $40 per student.
- Limit 25 students.

Willy Wonk Jr. Musical Camp
- Casting sessions (3rd-6th grade)
- June 10, 6:30 p.m., OCHS Auditorium
- June 11, 2 p.m., OCHS Auditorium
- 3rd-6th grade students MUST attend one casting session.
- Students should prepare to sing a short song.
- Students will be given a book and CD to memorize their parts prior to camp week.
Musical Camp
- July 22-26
- Pre-K-2nd Grade, 10-11 a.m., OCHS Auditorium, $20 per student
- 3rd-6th Grade, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., OCHS Auditorium, $30 per student
- Students need to bring a sack lunch each day; snack provided.
- Signup deadline, June 11
