US 75 bridge repair work begins June 5 near county line

Repair work on the northbound and southbound U.S. Highway 75 bridges located one mile north of the Osage County line in Shawnee County will begin Wednesday, June 5, weather permitting.

Work on the bridges over the Wakarusa River includes deck patching, joint repairs and bearing repairs.

The work will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction. Motorists are asked to use extra caution in the work area.

Weather permitting, the project will be finished by December. PCI Roads of St. Michael, Minn., is the contractor on the $691,000 project.
