LYNDON, Kan. – Floy McElfresh, 71, passed away May 26, 2019, in Ogden, Utah. She was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Floyd and Wilma Brim McElfresh.
Floy had lived in Lyndon, Kan., for the last 49 years, and had been in Utah with her son for three months.
Floy worked for the Osage County Sheriff’s Department for 32 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and attended the Melvern United Methodist Church.
Floy was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Wilma; two brothers, Samuel McElfresh and Daniel McElfresh; and a sister, Wanda Estabrooks.
Floy is survived by her son, Joseph McElfresh and wife, Melissa, of Syracuse, Utah; two brothers, David McElfresh, Ottawa, Kan., and Delbert McElfresh, Mission, Texas; two nieces, Tina and Dawn Estabrooks, both of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Chelsy Hardin, Osage City, Kan., and Zachary McElfresh, Lawrence, Kan.; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden Bentley and Easton Dean, both of Osage City.
Graveside memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Americus Cemetery. Family will meet with friends following the service at the Lyndon Community Center, 204 Topeka Ave., Lyndon.
