LYNDON, Kan. – David W. Wilson was born on Nov. 1, 1955, in Ottawa, Kan., the son of Robert K. and Betty J. Peterson Wilson. He departed this life on Aug. 17, 2019, at his home in Lyndon, Kan., at the age of 63.
David had lived in Ottawa, Kan., for nearly 30 years before moving to Lyndon in 1982. David attended school in Ottawa, but his real education came from hard work, friends, and his interest in making things work. He worked for Duke Manufacturing, Hanna’s Auto, Wolf Creek Power Plant and the city of Lyndon, with many other jobs in between. David started working for the city of Lyndon in 2003. He held the job of maintenance supervisor for 16 years. He took great pride in the small town that is his family’s lifetime home.
David’s true passion was Harley Davidson motorcycles and riding with friends. He took great pride in the house that he built with the help of his family and friends.
On Dec. 8, 1982, David was married to Cathy Bronson Brecheisen, in Lyndon, Kan.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty; and by a brother, Michael Peterson.
David is survived by his wife, Cathy, of the home; two sons, Heath Brecheisen and wife, Melissa, and Blake Wilson and wife, Jody; daughter, Hannah Wilson; niece, Kelsey Bronson; seven grandchildren, Ariel, Haley and Ethan Brecheisen, and Davey, Jack, Miah and Hank Wilson, all of Lyndon; brother, Gordan Wilson; and two sisters, Judith Johnson and Lisa Samora.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church, southeast of Lyndon. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.
