Local Girl Scouts are planning “Mom and Me Boogie to the Beat” mother-daughter campouts at Camp Wood, near Emporia, Oct. 11-13, 2019.
The first campout is 5 p.m. Oct. 11 to noon, Oct. 12, and is for girls in kindergarten through third grade and their moms. Activities include crafts, games, fishing and traditional campfire singing and s’mores. Breakfast and lunch are included; concessions are available on Friday night.
The next day, Oct. 12, camp will run from 2 p.m. until noon on Oct. 13 for girls in grades 4-12 and their mothers. Activities include crafts, games, fishing and traditional campfire singing and s’mores. Horseback riding, high adventures and low ropes are available for an additional cost. Dinner and breakfast are included; concessions are available for Sat lunch.
Cost is $25 per girl and $25 per adult. Lodging is not included with cost of camp; additional charge depends on choice of cabin or tent. Registration deadline is Oct. 4.
