MELVERN, Kan. – On Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, Marias des Cygnes Valley High School and Junior High school student councils traveled to Seaman High School, in Topeka, for the Student Council Regional Conference. The morning began with some mixers in the gym, followed by introductions, and a performance by the Vikettes.

The keynote speaker for the day was Heather Schultz, who motivated and inspired the students with her talk on, “Power Through Embracing a Resilient Mindset”. After Schultz’s heartwarming and motivational speech, she led an activity for students, while the advisors met with Rod Garman, the Kansas State High School Activities Association Stuco representative. Stuco members and advisors joined for the closing session.

MdCV’s junior high and high school student councils are looking forward to the year in front of them.
