Ronald E. Regester, 75, Carbondale: Aug. 6, 1944 – Oct. 6, 2019

CARBONDALE, Kan. – Ronald E. Regester, 75, of Carbondale, Kan., passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at the Village Villa Nursing Home, Nortonville, Kan. Ron was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Clay Center, Kan., the son of Graham and Twila Carlson Regester.

He graduated from Appanoose High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 27 years. Ron worked at the Topeka VA Hospital for more than 22 years.

He married Elaine Ratcliff, Oct. 26, 1984. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2019.

They had lived in Alaska for more than 18 years. He was a member of the Heritage Country Church, Carbondale.

He is survived by three sons, Ronny Johnston Jr., of New Jersey, and Steve Garman and Tom Ratcliff, both of Carbondale; a daughter, Tammy Zeigler, of Pennsylvania; a brother, Doug Regester, Manhattan, Kan.; four sisters, Judy Wiesner, Bonner Springs, Kan., and Nancy Stinger, Dawn Brewer and Melissa Martin, all of Salina, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Rico, Shaolin, Kaylee, Neosho, Scott, Wyatt, Zane, Tyler and Daylee; and two great grandchildren, Karen and Koti.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Heritage County Church, Carbondale. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Interment will be at the Carbondale Cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
