OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Judith Kay Tomlinson, 79, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City, Kan. She was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Osage City, the daughter of Robert L. Sr. and Mildred E. Moore Tomlinson.
Judy was raised in Osage City and at the age of 13 moved to the Parsons Training Center. At the age of 21, Judy attended the KNI Training Center, in Topeka, Kan. Judy worked for 10 years at the Easton Nursing Home before taking a job at Brookwood Nursing Home, in Topeka. She had also been employed at Dorothy’s Kitchen and at Brewster Place, before moving back to Osage City, where she worked at Robert Coastal.
Judy was a true animal lover with a special affection for cats. She always looked forward to attending the local bingo nights and enjoyed drawing and painting. Judy was an avid sports fan, cheering on the area college teams and especially loved the KC Royals.
She attended the Countryside Baptist Church, in Osage City, and held the congregation dear to her heart.
She will live on through the love and memories of her sister, Delores “Dee” Robert, Osage City; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Gary L. Tomlinson and Robert L. Tomlinson Jr.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at the Countryside Baptist Church, Osage City. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery north of Osage City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
