Paula L. Inman, 75, Berryton: Feb. 9, 1944 – Oct. 13, 2019

BERRYTON, Kan. – Paula L. Inman, 75, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at her home in Berryton, Kan. Paula was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Huntington Beach, Calif., the daughter of James and Charlotte (Fiske) Kieffer.

She attended Tecumseh Elementary School, and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962. She then graduated from Washburn University, Topeka, Kan., in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in English.

She married Robert “Bob” James Inman, April 11, 1965, in Tecumseh, Kan. Paula worked in the library at Berryton Elementary School for 16 years and in the education department’s library at Washburn University for more than 22 years. She was an active member of the Berryton United Methodist Church, where over the years she was a member of the UMW, taught Sunday school classes, and helped with vacation Bible school. She was a member of the Kansas Reading Association, in which she was KRA Conference Chair and State Conference and Institute Coordinator for multiple terms. Paula was an avid reader, she loved her books and shared that love with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marion Kieffer.

At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband, Bob, of more than 54 years, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019. She is survived by two sons, Allan Inman, Overbrook, Kan., and Rod (Jennifer) Inman, Peculiar, Mo.; a daughter, Debbie (David) Parks, Mayetta, Kan.; brother, Gale Kieffer, Topeka; sister, Janice Kieffer, Tecumseh; eight grandchildren, James (Christine), Andrew (Taylor), Miles, Hannah, Cassidy, Haileigh, Tyson and Dalton; and three great grandchildren, Owen, Hunter and Cora.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Berryton United Methodist Church, 7010 SE Berryton Road, Berryton. Visitation will be one hour before services from 2-3 p.m. and after the services at the church.
