Burn ban in Osage County: Dec. 1, 2019

A burn ban has been issued for Osage County today, Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019. No outside burning is allowed today and all burn permits are suspended. The ban will be in effect until 8 a.m. Dec. 2, 2019, and may be extended.

The ban was issued due to a wind advisory, with wind 20 to 30 mph and gusts to 50 mph forecast for today, and high fire danger.

The rangeland fire danger index will be in the high category today. High fire danger means fire control will be very difficult and require extended effort. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
