Statewide Silver Alert: Inman man found safe in Rice County

Update Dec. 3, 2019: The Inman Police Department reported that Richard W. Andrus was located safely overnight in Rice County. This statewide Silver Alert has been canceled.

MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. – The Inman, Kan., Police Department has requested that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Inman man.

The whereabouts of Richard W. Andrus, 70, are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.

Inman Police Department reports Andrus is a white male, 5 ft. 11 in., 193 pounds, bald, and has blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a green jacket and jeans, and was last known to be driving a red 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with Vietnam Veteran tag 5123, heading in an unknown direction.

Last point of contact with Andrus was at his home in Inman, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019. Andrus possibly used his credit card at a Casey’s convenience store in Ellsworth, Kan. on Sunday evening. He is reported as suffering from dementia.
