Lyndon celebrates coming of winter

Lyndon will be celebrating the coming of winter with its annual winter festival Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019. The day will be highlighted with a Christmas parade at 10:30 a.m., which heads to the high school, where some of the day’s festivities will be. Also at the school will be the annual Christmas bazaar, featuring crafts, vendor products and unique Christmas gift ideas. Here is Saturday’s schedule:

Lyndon Winter Festival, Dec. 7, 2019

7:30 a.m. – Ugly Sweater Run
7:30-9:30 a.m. – Holiday breakfast and A Christmas Story, Lyndon Community Center
9 a.m.-2 p.m. – Christmas bazaar, Lyndon High School
10:30-11:30 a.m. – Hot cocoa and cookies, Lyndon Carnegie Library
10:30 a.m. – Christmas parade, downtown to high school
11-11:45 a.m. – Gingerbread house building, Lyndon High School
11:30 a.m. – Santa baby contest, Lyndon High School
11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Pictures with Santa
1-3 p.m. – Candy Cane Lane, child seat check
5 p.m. – Christmas tree lighting and caroling, Sixth and Topeka streets.
6-6:45 p.m. – Live nativity scene, Osage County Courthouse lawn.

Also during the day will be “sip and shop” events at several local stores, along with live music downtown 4-8 p.m.
