With spring just around the corner, Osage City Parks and Recreation is gearing up for, what else, barbecue! Smoke in the Spring State BBQ Championship is April 10-11, 2020, and the Osage City community is planning its annual celebration of barbecuen. Also in the works for springtime – setting team rosters for the OCPR Flint Hills League youth baseball and softball. See signup details below:
OCPR Flint Hills League Youth Baseball and Softball
Baseball and softball divisions – 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 15U.
- Players who are not five years old by May 1, 2020, are too young for the 6U boys/girls divisions.
- The 6U and 8U Divisions coach pitch.
- All other baseball/softball divisions – Kid Pitch.
- $30 per player (baseball/softball).
- Team practices can start the week of April 13, if a coach has been assigned.
- FHL season is May 18 to July 3. Divisions tournaments are the week of July 6.
- Baseball/softball age date, May 1, 2020.
Signup forms are available at Osage City Hall, online at www.osagecity.com, sent through the USD 420, Osage City Elementary School and Osage City Middle School, and the city of Osage City Facebook Page.

- BBQ teams accept BBQ Bucks as payment for food.
- BBQ Bucks can be purchased at Osage City Hall starting April 8.
- BBQ Bucks will be sold on site April 10, 1-7 p.m., at the community building concession stand windows.
- BBQ Bucks can be reused, from year to year. BBQ Bucks are a dollar for dollar exchange.

Shuttle service, Friday only, for those parked at the Osage City school parking lot Area, 4-9 p.m. Pick up at Osage City Elementary School parking lot, and drop off at Safford, between K-170 and First Street. Patrons are also welcome to walk to the event from the Osage City schools.
- Open lot west of Highway K-170, across from OCHS football field.
- Designated event handicap parking: handicap spots just west of the OCHS football field bleachers, entry from K-170, sidewalk and asphalt access to the event. Plus, possible shuttle service from event UTVs.
- Shuttle bus and driver provided by Osage County Senior Center, handicapped accessible.
