Jack Bowen Sr., 75, Vassar: Aug. 20, 1944 – May 27, 2020

VASSAR, Kan. – Jack Bowen Sr., 75, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Topeka Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Topeka, Kan. He was born Aug. 20, 1944, in North Platte, Neb., son of Frank and Beulah Chambers Bowen.

Jack lived in several cities; he lived much of his life in Denver, Colo., Anchorage, Alaska, and Vassar. Jack graduated from North Platte High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He worked as a fire protection engineer for 56 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order.

Jack married Jennifer Lynn Allen; they later divorced. He married Jane Ellen Duke on Dec. 28, 1976, in Denver, Colo.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, on Dec. 15, 2006; and sisters, Jo Lynn and Jeannine.

Jack is survived by his son, Jack Bowen Jr., of Liberty, Mo.; three daughters, Jamie Bowen (Kevin), Kansas City, Mo., Katherine Martin (Eric), Carrboro, N.C., and Rebecca Dorman (Tom), Osage City, Kan.; brother, Jerry Bowen, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and six grandchildren, Tim, Christian, Cora, Kassandra, Viktoria and Ryder.

Online Zoom memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. June 13, at the address 861 5417 4297.
