Leland Cloyce Kramer, 84, Lawrence: Nov. 6, 1935 – April 22, 2020

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Leland Cloyce Kramer, 84, passed away at his home on April 22, 2020, in Lawrence, Kan., surrounded by his family. Leland was born Nov. 6, 1935, to Cloyce Reed Kramer and Opal (Boyer) Kramer, in Melvern, Kan.

Leland graduated from Osage City High School in 1953, and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in teaching from Emporia State University.

He was a teacher, coach and a counselor in Osage City, Kan., for 27 years, followed by 16 years as a coach and a counselor in Leavenworth, Kan. After retirement, he worked several years at Alvamar Golf Course and Hy-Vee, in Lawrence.

Leland married Gertrude (Noble) Kramer on Dec. 19, 1954, at the Osage City United Methodist Church.

Leland is survived by his wife, Gertrude; three daughters, Janet, Jo Lynn and Janell; a son Chuck; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and extended family and many friends.

The family will be celebrating Leland’s life 2-4 p.m. June 27, at the Osage City Community Building, 517 S. First St. The celebration will begin with a brief eulogy followed by a meet and greet with family and friends.
