It’s officially hot outside and Osage City Aquatic Center is open for cooling off. Swim lessons are underway and session two begins next week. Osage City Parks and Recreation is also gearing up for youth football for summer and early fall. Check out the current OCPR schedule below.
Osage City Aquatic Center
OCAC Pool Hours: June 15-August 9, Monday-Friday, 1-6pm, Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pm.
- Daily Admission, $3 (age 4 and above).
- Age 3 and Below FREE.
- Age 65 and Over FREE.
- OCAC Swim Pass Booklets.
Swim Booklets will be on sale at OCAC starting June 15. 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50.
Group Swim Lessons
Session Two, July 13-23.
- 9-9:45am, Guard Start, Level 2.
- 10-10:45am, Pre-School, Level 1, Level 3.
- 11-11:45am, Pre-School, Level 2.
- 12-12:30pm, Parent Tot (6 months-2 years).
- Signup Deadline, July 6.
- Group Lesson Cost, $25 per swimmer
Private Swim Lessons
- Lesson No. 4, July 13-17
- OCAC Staff will contact you about a time for the week selected.
- Other times may be available (Contact OCAC)
- $40 per week (One Week = Four, 30-minute lessons)
- Contact OCAC Starting June 15.
- Pre-School Sessions, Pre-K Swimmers (Age 3-5) will be evaluated their first session and then placed in the appropriate group.
- A minimum of 4 swimmers is needed for a class to make.
- Swim Lessons are Monday-Thursday ONLY.
- Friday will be used as a Make-Up Day (as needed).
- Lessons will not be held if the air temperature is below 70 degrees.

USD 420 MS/HS Student Lap Swim
- Monday-Friday, 8-9am.
- 7th-12th grade (20-21 school year).
- $1 per swimmer, per day.
Water Aerobics
Instructor, Marcy DeWitt
- Week of June 15 through week of August 3.
- Tuesday and Thursday, 6-7pm.
- $3 per class or one swim card.
- Cardio, muscle toning, stretching.
Youth Football Camp
1st-6th Grade
- Grade is based on the 2020-2021 school year.
- July 27-30.
- 6:30-7:30pm (non-tackle players).
- 6:30-8pm (3rd-6th tackle players).
- $15 per player.
- Campers receive a T-shirt.
- Signup deadline, July 24.
OCPR 3rd/4th Grade Tackle Football
- Players must be USD 420 3rd/4th grade students based on the 2020-2021 school year.
- The team plays in the Sunrise Optimist Club Youth Football League (North Topeka).
- League games are played in the Topeka Seaman School District.
- OCPR will attempt to schedule 1-2 league games in Osage City.
- The team plays 7 league games + End of Season Tournament (Single Elimination).
- League season – Sept. 5 – Oct. 17.
- Practice starts the week of August 10. Practices dates determined by the head coach.
- OCPR provides – helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all seven pads sewn in), team jersey and mouth piece (players can choose to use their own mouthpiece).
- Each player needs to provide their own football shoes, any additional padding or accessories.
- Player fee – $125 per player – Check Payable to “OCPR”
- Sign-up forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or to the OCPR Office (Corey)
OCPR 5th/6th Grade Tackle Football
- Players must be USD 420 5th/6th grade students based on the 2020-2021 school year
- The team plays in the Emporia Recreation Commission’s 5th/6th grade Football League.
- Team Practice – Starts the week of August 10
- Weekly Practice Dates determined by the Head Coach
- ERC League Location: Played at the football fields north of Emporia High School
- ERC Season – September 12-October 24
- OCPR will attempt to schedule 1-2 league or non-league games in Osage City.
- OCPR provides ALL team football equipment – helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all 7 pads sewn in), mouthpiece (if needed) and team jersey
- Players provide their own football cleats and accessories.
- 5th/6th Grade players must provide a completed medical form, signed by a physician (no exceptions). Deadline Aug. 21.
- Player fee – $80
- Signup deadline – July 24
- Signup forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or the OCPR office (Corey).
