LEBO, Kan. – Stephen L. Griffin, 73, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kan. Stephen Leroy Griffin was born July 30, 1947, in Burlingame, Kan., the son of William Frances and Mildred Francis (Kelley) Griffin.

He served in the United States Navy.

Steve was joined in marriage Elizabeth Catherine Gunterman, on Sept. 6, 1969, in Topeka.

He had worked at the Kansas Job Service office for many years. He was a member Corinthian Lodge No. 79 Masonic Lodge, Burlingame.

He will be forever remembered by his wife, Cathy Griffin, of the home; two daughters, Giner LeAnn (Eric) Fay, Emporia, Kan., and Stephanie Louise Griffin, Bon Aire, Ga.; a son, Robert (Sherry) Griffin, Lebo, Kan.; four sisters, Julia Traphagan, Burlingame, Liz (Dennis) Johnson, Carbondale, Kan., Paula (John) Clark, Belle Plaine, Kan., and Patti Fleak, Burlingame; three brothers, Bob (Dolly) Griffin, Lawrence, Kan., Dale (Joan) Griffin, Olivet, Kan., and Tim (Kylin) Griffin, Burlingame; and seven granchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and nine brothers.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, 107 W. Sixth St., Lebo. Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the funeral home. Cremation is to follow service, and inurnment will be at a later date in Burlingame Cemetery.
