Juanita Basinger, 78, Lyndon: Feb. 3, 1942 – Aug. 11, 2020

LYNDON, Kan. – Juanita Basinger, 78, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at her home near Lyndon, Kan. She was born on Feb. 3, 1942, in Spear, Texas, the daughter of Ted Daily and Mona Winchell.

Juanita had lived in Lawrence, Kan., for several years and had lived near Lyndon for the last 20 years.

Juanita worked for Kansas Color Press as a machine operator until retiring, and then she had been owner and promoter of Dragoon Motocross Park, north of Lyndon. She was a member of the Michigan Valley Community Church.

On April 28, 1977, Juanita was married to Richard Basinger, in Pittsburg, Kan.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home; her son, Steve Herschell, of Great Bend, Kan.; two daughters, Susan Butcher, Osage City, Kan., and Sandra Adams, Lawrence; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Juanita will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, at the chapel.
