Two chances during August to be an appreciated bus rider

Submitted by Osage County Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

Since there is an extra Thursday in August, there will be two rider appreciation trips that month.

On Aug. 22, the general public transportation bus will heading for Johnson County for stops at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm, Perkins for lunch, and the Bass Pro Shop, in Olathe.  The donation requested for this trip is $10, with riders being responsible for their lunch.

Then on the evening of Aug. 29, the bus will be going to Puffy’s Steakhouse in Maple Hill.  Departure from the senior center will be at 5:30 p.m. The donation for transit is $4 per person, and the cost of the meal will be determined by what each person orders from the menu.

This week’s senior center news is also the last call for the nutrition site’s ice cream social at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at the senior center. We hope you can make it. We know you will enjoy it if you do.
