Some members of the Osage County Council on Aging and Osage County Senior Center have been busy making homemade bierocks for a fundraiser celebrating Super Bowl LV. They received orders for approximately 100 dozen. To make 100 dozen bierocks, they used 80 pounds of hamburger, 16 cabbages, approximately 16 onions, 8 pounds of butter and 16 pounds of cheese.

Members of the council on aging continue to be busy with fundraisers for improving the senior center for enjoyment of senior citizens and others in the community. One of the biggest fundraisers in progress is for purchasing a bus to use for trips to go shopping, shows or movies, eating out, and other outings. Other fundraisers include those for exercise equipment, furniture for the library, and furniture for the commons area. Some of the various fundraisers have included the citywide garage sale, kettle corn, concessions at the Pomona Lake events, breakfast for the Chamber of Commerce Christmas on Market Street, and others.

In December, the council celebrated the holiday season by giving boxes of food and household items to 16 citizens throughout the county.

The senior center and local council on aging receive memorials and donations and are always appreciative of the generosity shown. (Any donations are tax deductible, too.)
