Mary Ann DaPrato, 92, Goldsby: Sept. 8, 1928 – Feb. 3, 2021

GOLDSBY, Okla. – Mary Ann DaPrato, 92, of Goldsby, Okla., formerly of Topeka, Kan., passed away on Feb. 3, 2021. She was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Linwood, Kan., the daughter of James and Helena Louise (Luckan) Toyne.

She was a homemaker and the loving mother of eight children. Mary Ann had also lived in Talmage, Fla., and Altamont, Ill., where she was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church and the VFW Post 7676 Auxiliary. While in Topeka, she attended the Assumption Catholic Church.

Mary Ann married Leo F. DaPrato Sr., Aug. 6, 1947, in Topeka, Kan. He predeceased her on Nov. 11, 1998.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and all of her siblings, Evelyn Graham, Dorothy Root, Martha Saler, James Toyne, Alvin Toyne and Sydney Toyne.

She is survived by her children, Gloria Ann McKinney, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Janice Marie Smith (husband Larry deceased), Wedgefield, S.C., Theresa Ann (Gunny) Wedekind, Goldsby, Leo F. (Janis) DaPrato Jr., Carbondale, Kan., Edward Louis DaPrato, Topeka, David Arthur (Cathy) DaPrato, Minot, N.D., Annette Louise (Phil) Schultz, Altamont, and Anthony Robert (Leslie) DaPrato, Carbondale; and 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann will lie in state 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Mater Dei Holy Name Church, 1114 W. 10th Ave., Topeka, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka.
