Topeka man arrested in sheriff’s child solicitation investigation

OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. – The Osage County Sheriff’s Office announced yesterday a Topeka man has been arrested as the result of an ongoing sheriff’s investigation into the online solicitation of children by adults.

In a press release issued May 25, the sheriff’s office reported that Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Osage County Sheriff’s Office’s criminal investigation unit arrested Gabriel R. Remboldt, 22, of Topeka, Kan., alleging he had made plans to meet with someone he believed to be a minor.

Remboldt was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of aggravated human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation of a child, and use of a communication facility to commit a felony.

Remboldt was charged with those crimes in Osage County District Court and was released on $50,000 surety bond May 12, with his second court appearance scheduled for 11 a.m. June 3.
