Sheriff’s Report: Quenemo traffic stop results in warrant arrest

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office reported that a traffic stop Thursday in Quenemo resulted in the arrest of an Ottawa man who first gave a false name and then was identified as the subject of an Osage County warrant.

A sheriff’s office press release reported that at 4:18 p.m. June 3, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a car stop at Sixth and Maple, Quenemo, for a traffic violation. The release said the driver, Asa J. Michaelsen, 31, of Ottawa, Kan., gave a false name but was identified as a subject of an Osage County warrant. The report said Michaelsen was also found to be in possession of suspected narcotics.

Michaelsen was booked into the Osage County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, felony interference with law enforcement, and an Osage County warrant.
