Osage County Fair promises entertainment for all: July 7-10, 2021, at Osage City

The 76th annual Osage County Fair is scheduled for July 7-10, 2021, at Osage City, Kan. The Osage County Fair Association has worked with local partners to put together four days and nights of entertainment and activities, along with traditional exhibition of the best of the best of Osage County.

The fair unofficially begins with the 4-H horse show this Saturday at Lyndon Saddle Club Arena, but the fair opens for entry of all other exhibits the morning of Wednesday, July 7. That evening, the Peterson Farm Brothers will be serving up their unique style of down-home agri-entertainment as the fair’s opening act.

Fairgrounds will close daily 30 minutes after last evening event. Exhibit building hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Lions Club food stand opens at 6 a.m. Thursday through Saturday for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Saturday, June 26 – 9 a.m., 4-H Horse Show, Lyndon Saddle Club Arena.

Wednesday, July 7

  • 8-11 a.m. – All exhibits entry (4-H, Open, FFA, Girl Scout, Boy Scout). Exhibit hall and Fredrickson Arena.
  • 1 p.m. – Exhibit judging starts – Exhibit hall closed to the public while judging.
  • 1 p.m. – 4-H Dog Show and Pet Show – community building
  • 5 p.m. – 4-H Clothing Style Revue – community building
  • 6 p.m. – BBQ sandwich meal special – Lion’s Club food stand at community building
  • 7 p.m. – “Peterson Farm Brothers” entertainment – Football Field Grandstand; meet and greet with Peterson Farm Brothers following the show.

Thursday, July 8

  • 9 a.m. – 4-H Goat and Sheep Show – Fredrickson Arena
  • 11:30 a.m. – 4-H Rabbit and Poultry Show – Pavilion
  • 5- 6:15 p.m. – Registration and check-in for pie baking contest in community building
  • 5 p.m. – Mobile Fish Aquarium – Kansas Wildlife and Parks
  • 6:30 p.m. – 4th Annual Blue Ribbon Pie Baking Contest – judging in community building
  • 6:30 p.m. – 4-H Bucket Calf and Dairy Show – Fredrickson Arena
  • 7 p.m. – 4-H Beef Show – Fredrickson Arena
  • 7 p.m. – Talent show – stage east of community building

Friday, July 9

  • 8 a.m. – Donuts and juice.
  • 9 a.m. – 4-H Swine Show – Fredrickson Arena
  • 3 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Livestock Judging Contest – Fredrickson Arena
  • 6:30 p.m. – Osage County Fair Parade – downtown Osage City. Theme: “Honoring Hometown Heroes”
  • 7:30 p.m. – 2nd Annual Celebrity Pie Eating Contest and Kids Twinkie Eating Contest – stage east of community building
  • 8 p.m. – Demolition derby – west of football field; ($10 admission; $20 pit passes)

Saturday, July 10

  • 9 a.m. – 4-H Round Robin Showmanship – Fredrickson Arena
  • 9:45 a.m. – Registration and check-in for bed races – parking lot west of swimming pool
  • 10 a.m. – Bed races
  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Craft show – inside community building
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Hatchet Throw
  • 10-4 p.m. – Climbing Wall and Jousting Pit, Kansas National Guard – east of community building
  • 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Inflatables entertainment for all ages – east of community building
  • 12-3 p.m. – Touch-A-Truck event – west of football field
  • 6-8 p.m. – Bingo – community building
  • 4 p.m. – Registration and check-in for Corn-Hole Tournament – inside exhibit hall
  • 4:30 p.m. – 3rd Annual Corn-Hole Tournament – inside exhibit hall
  • 6:30 p.m. – 4-H Livestock Sale – Fredrickson Arena
  • 8:30 p.m. – Homemade ice cream social – outside community building
  • 9 p.m. – BrickHorse, live band, stage east of community building
  • 10 p.m. approximately – community fireworks display
