Another winter storm moves in today

The National Weather Service reported another winter storm has developed across the southern plains Sunday night, and has the potential to bring a mixture of rain, freezing rain and snow to northeast Kansas Monday, with most of the snow falling in the evening and overnight. See current snowfall forecast map here.

By Monday afternoon, much of the area could see a transition to snow, which could persist through Tuesday into early Wednesday. The heaviest snow Monday and Monday night will fall along and south of Interstate 70.  Ten to 13 inches of snowfall will be possible with some locally higher amounts across east central Kansas. North of I-70 snow amounts will drop to 6 to 8 inches.
