OCPR Update: Signup now for grade school tackle football, youth soccer, youth flag football

OCPR-logo-redOsage City Parks and Recreation is gearing up for fall sports, with signups underway for grade school tackle football, youth soccer, and youth flag football. Also, Osage City Aquatic Center will be open until at least Aug. 15, so there’s still time to cool off when the last blast of summer heat returns. See details below.


Osage City Aquatic Center

OCAC Pool Hours (2021)

  • May 29-August 15: Monday-Friday, 1-6pm; Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pm
  • Daily Admission: $3 (Age 4 and Above); Age 3 and Below FREE; Age 65 and Over FREE

OCAC Swim Pass Booklets

  • Swim Booklets can be purchased at Osage City Hall
  • Swim Booklets will be on sale at OCAC
  • 50 Swim Card Booklet, $50

Deck and Pool Rental Reservation can be made with Corey Linton


OCPR 3rd/4th Grade Tackle Football

  • Players must be USD 420 3rd/4th grade students based on the 21-22 school year.
  • Team plays in the Sunrise Optimist Club Youth Football League (North Topeka)
  • League games played at Topeka Seaman MS Field
  • Team plays 7 league games + End of Season Tournament (Single Elimination)
  • League Season – September 4 – October 16
  • Weekly Practices Dates and Time determined by the Head Coach, Jordan Tice
  • OCPR provides helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all 7 pads sewn in), team jersey and mouth piece (players can choose to use their own mouthpiece).
  • Each provides their own football shoes, any additional padding or accessories.

Player Fee – $125 Per Player – Check payable to “OCPR”. Sign-up forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or to the OCPR Office (Corey)


OCPR 5th/6th Grade Tackle Football

  • Players must be USD 420 5th/6th grade students based on the ‘21-‘22 school year
  • Team plays in the Emporia Recreation Commission’s 5th/6th grade Football League.
  • Weekly practice dates and time determined by the Head Coach Mitch Foote
  • ERC League games played at the football fields north of Emporia High School
  • ERC SEASON – September 11-October 23
  • OCPR provides helmet, chin strap, shoulder pads, pants (integrated, all 7 pads sewn in), mouthpiece (if needed) and team jersey
  • Each player provides their own football cleats any additional padding or accessories.
  • 5th/6th grade players must provide a completed medical form, signed by a physician (no exceptions) – Deadline – August 20 – Medical Form is available at the player physical location

Player fee – $80 – Check Payable to “OCPR”. Signup forms and payment can be delivered to Osage City Hall or the OCPR Office (Corey).


Youth Soccer

Divisions-6U, 8U, 10U, All Divisions COED

  • Age date is September 1, 2021
  • A Player younger than 5 years of age on/before September 1, 2021 is too young for the 6U Division.
  • OCPR teams participate with Overbrook and Lyndon
  • Games are rotated between Overbrook, Lyndon, and Osage City
  • Cost – $30 per player

OCPR players receive a team jersey, shorts, and socks. Players supply their own shin guard and cleated shoes.

Team practice can start the week of August 30, if a coach is assigned.

Signup deadline August 20

Signup forms available at Osage City Hall, sent through the Osage City Grade School (when school starts), online at www.osagecity.com (click Departments and Parks and Recreation), and in the Photos Section of the Osage City Facebook Page.


Youth Flag Football

Divisions – Pre-K/K – 1st/2nd Grade

  • OCPR teams participate in the North Osage County Flag Football League
  • A Player younger than 5 years of age on/before September 1, 2020 is too young for the Pre-K/K Division.
  • Teams can start practice the week of August 30, if a coach is assigned.
  • League games are Sundays, in Burlingame
  • Cost – $30 per player
  • Players receive a team shirt and equipment (flag set, footballs, mouthpieces, supplied by OCPR)

Signup Deadline, August 27
