Sheriff’s Reports: Traffic stops yield arrests on drug charges

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office reported the following traffic stops and arrests in Osage County in recent press releases.

At 11:17 a.m. Aug. 5, 2021 this morning, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at Call Street and Emporia Street, in Melvern, Kan., for a traffic violation. During the stop illegal narcotics were located. A passenger in the vehicle, Zachery T. Roberts, 21, of Paola, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.


At 8:44 p.m. Aug. 4, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at 149th and South Topeka Avenue for a traffic violation. During the stop illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Levi N. Ludwick, 31, of Auburn, Kan., was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


At 4:31 p.m. July 30, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of state Highway 268 and state Highway 368 for a traffic violation. During the stop, the K-9 officer located illegal narcotics. The driver of the vehicle, Matthew J. Wilson-Bedford, 29, of Lyndon, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.


At 2:15 p.m. July 27, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at 285th Street and South Berryton Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, Randy L. Mason, 54, of Osage City, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.


At 10:19 p.m. July 24, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 133 on U.S. Highway 75 for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located, and the driver and a passenger were taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail. The driver was Robert L. McMillin, 59, of Independence, Mo., who was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, driving while license revoked, and illegal registration. The passenger, Sandra L. Cecil, 36, of Kansas City, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, and transporting an open container of alcohol.


At 1:50 p.m. July 22, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop near 317th Street and Shawnee Heights Road, near Melvern. During the stop, a K-9 was deployed and located illegal narcotics on a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger, Darci D. Watkins, 35, of Pomona, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.


At 1:34 p.m. July 20, 2021, an Osage County sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at milepost 164 on Interstate 35 for a traffic violation. During the stop, a K-9 was deployed and located narcotics on a passenger. The passenger, Leanna M. Driskell, 41, of Moore, Okla., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


At 1:16 p.m. July 19, 2021, an Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 35 near milepost 160 for a traffic violation. During the stop, illegal narcotics were located on a passenger. Colisa R. Keely, 48, of Haysville, Kan., was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
