Senior Center: Schedule set for monthly commodities distribution

Submitted by Osage County Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

The senior commodity boxes provided by Harvesters Community Food Network will be available at the Osage County Senior Center 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.  The dates for distribution for the rest of 2013 are Sept. 17, Oct. 22, Nov.19 and Dec. 17. If you have any questions regarding this program, please call the senior center in Osage City at 785-528-4906. New applications must be on file by the fifth day of the month to receive a commodity box that month.

We still have several seats left for the bus trip to the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, the Bass Pro Shops, and Perkins for lunch on Aug. 22. This is really a wonderful trip, and it only takes $10 to cover the transportation and the entry fee at the stagecoach stop.
