OSAGE CITY, Kan. – David E. Anderson, 80, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City, Kan. He was born Aug. 18, 1941, in Osage City, the son of Thomas and Verda Lafferty Anderson.
David had lived most of his life in Osage City but had lived for a few years in Topeka, Kan., also.
David had farmed, was owner-operator of Anderson Plumbing & Heating and A&G Underground, worked at Kan-Build, and owned Dog Town Antiques. He served in the US Army Reserves for nearly 10 years. He was a member of the Stotler Covenant Church, where he was an officer, and a member of Auburn Christian Church, where he was an elder. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Osage City, and the Osage City Jaycees, worked for the rural water district, and was a square dancer.
David was united in marriage to Donna Dee Balocca on Feb. 10, 1961, in Topeka. To this union two children were born, Laura and Laird.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Verda.
David is survived by wife, Donna, of the home; his two children, Laura (Brett) Haynes and Laird (Kandy) Anderson, all of Osage City; two brothers, Lawrence Anderson and Harlan Anderson, both of Osage City; three grandchildren, Kyle (Tobi), Mariah and Trista; and three great-grandchildren, Walker, Warren and Emerson.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Countryside Baptist Church, 24608 S. Hwy K-170, Osage City.
