KDOT to begin field survey for guard fence improvements on U.S.75

Starting Tuesday, Aug. 20 and continuing for two weeks, weather permitting, the Kansas Department of Transportation will conduct a field survey for guard fence improvements at two locations on U.S. Highway 75 in Coffey County. The survey sites are located 1.5 miles and 12.2 miles north of Burlington.

Surveyors will obtain information along 500 feet of the highway right-of-way at each site. The survey is based on the existing alignment of U.S.75.

Activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor. A member of the survey crew will first contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property. Joseph Bowen, L.S., Party Chief, will be in charge of the survey for KDOT.
