Maxine L. Criqui, 86, Pomona: Sept. 9, 1926-Aug. 17, 2013

POMONA-Maxine L. Criqui, 86, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at her home in Pomona.

She was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Osage City, Kan., the daughter of William P. and Alice Martin Lane.

Maxine attended and graduated from Osage City High School. She married Harve A. Criqui in 1947. They later divorced.

Maxine worked at Peeks Grocery in Pomona during the 1970s and later at the Pomona Tavern. She was an Avon representative for many years. She received a licensed practical nurse degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, and later worked at Peterson Nursing Home, Osage City. Maxine retired in 1992 after working eight years at Hill Top Nursing Home, Lyndon.

She is survived by four sons, Dennis Criqui, of Williamsburg, Michael Criqui, Lyndon, Stephen Criqui, Sacramento, Calif., and Marty Criqui, Pomona; a sister, Darlene Haskins, Osage City; three brothers, Robert Lane, Caney, Thomas Lane, Carbondale, and Gary Lane, Burlington; and 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Criqui, and a sister, Coleen Keeffe.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 25, at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society and sent in care of the funeral chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
