Mary Ann Feltner, 74, Lyndon: June 30, 1939-August 18, 2013

LYNDON – Mary Ann Feltner, 74, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born on June 30, 1939, on a farm east of Burlington, the daughter of Charles and Cleo Stillian Graham.

Mary Ann had grown up in Burlington, where she graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. In 1966 she and her husband moved to Lyndon where they purchased the Shaffer Funeral Home. They later opened Marv’s Variety, and then added a carpet and furniture store. They retired in 1997. After retirement, she maintained her funeral director’s license and assisted her sons in the funeral home.

She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church where she was on the Board of Trustees and the Memorial Committee for several years. She was on the Lyndon Cemetery Board, was a founding committee member of the Osage County Relay for Life, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Lyndon.

On December 22, 1957, Mary Ann was married to Marvin Dean Feltner in Burlington. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2006.

Also preceding her were her parents, Charles and Cleo; a grandson, Jeremiah Tevis; four brothers, George, Elden, Justin and Kenneth Graham; and one sister, Marthelle Graham.

Mary Ann is survived by her three sons, Michael (Debra) Feltner, Mark Feltner and Martin (Wendy) Feltner, all of Lyndon; her two daughters, Marcia (Kelly) Dorr, Kansas City, Kan., and Michelle Feltner, Lyndon; her brother, Larry, of Arkansas; her sister, Lorene Smith, Eaton Rapids, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Jamison Tevis, Cierra Clark, Gabriel Clark, Morgan Feltner, Callie Feltner, Claire Feltner, Cleo Feltner and Elijah Feltner; four step-grandchildren, Missy Krause, Scott Dorr, Jenna Heilscher and Ryan Oest; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Ann will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church, southeast of Lyndon. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. Mary Ann will lie in state from 4-8 p.m. at the Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made payable to the Lyndon United Methodist Church or the Lyndon Carnegie Library, sent in care of  Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
