An overlay project on southbound U.S. Highway 75 is scheduled to resume today, April 28, 2022, in Osage and Shawnee counties.
The Kansas Department of Transportation reported that southbound U.S. 75 will be restricted to one lane from Southwest Topeka Boulevard to just south of the U.S. 75 and U.S. Highway 56 intersection in Osage County.
On and off ramps along the route are included in the project. Ramp closures will be one day or less, and information will be posted on message boards. Drivers should prepare for slow-moving traffic through the area.
Work will take place Monday through Saturday, during daylight hours, and is expected to be completed by early June, weather permitting. Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., of Topeka, is the prime contractor.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects in Kansas, see www.kandrive.org or call 511.
