Collection program makes good use of someone else’s shoes

Submitted by Senior Center Director Byron Jordan

The shoe collecting fundraiser for the Royal Family Kids Camp was scheduled to end this month, but thanks to the successful efforts already made, it has been extended until Oct. 31. So, if you would like to drop off your old shoes at the Osage County Senior Center in Osage City, please do so. The shoes can be in any condition, but we do ask that any mud or other crusty residue be removed, and that they be emptied of any insects or other varmints prior to dropping them off.

Response to recent public transportation rider appreciation trips has been very good.  We appreciate those who see the economic benefit, the convenience, and the entertainment value of all our bus trips. Some of the Topeka and Emporia trips have been under-utilized lately. Please consider calling us to reserve your seat when we go to Topeka or Emporia, or just when you need to get around in Osage County. Call the Osage County Senior Center at 785-528-4906. We depend on our ridership to keep this program alive.
